I decided to write this blog to educate and document my experience as a first time father to be. It will document my thoughts, experiences, and everything that takes place during these next few months. My hopes are that this will serve to help future first time dads overcome fears and obstacles that they will face.

17 WEEKS
As for the cravings....she has had increasingly more and more....
---although---
I have to thank God that she hasn't had anything strange like "Pickles dipped in PeanutButter dipped in BBQ sauce from some restaurant 50miles away with a side of Ice Cream in a flavor that hasnt been invented yet"....
No, nothing to that extent but normal I would guess, as she is eating for 2 and the baby requires more food and liquids to grow. Yesterday we went to the mall, and although we met there and I had prior engagements that required me to leave early, she had found her way to a restaurant in the mall that serves family size appetizers of garlic pan bread...she ate the whole thing. She has also been drinking an obscene amount of milk/chocolate milk. ...
She felt her first kick on Saturday....she didn't know until early on Sunday what it was...it was actually pretty funny how it came to be relayed to me...
we were sitting on the couch she was on Facebook talking to one of her Pregnant friends and she goes "I guess I felt a kick the other day!"---I responded "really?" ...she stated " Yea, I didn't know..until now I thought it was just Gas."
We both laughed uncontrolably for a bit...
relaxed...
and As usual...
I kissed the pup...
I kissed her...
I kissed her belly...
and we went to bed.

15 WEEKS
It has been a few weeks since my last post. I got the new job and I started January 3rd. There have been many new developments. The tiredness has not yet passed and Rebecca is still sleeping a lot. Her cravings have grown as has her stomach.
Christmas was intresting as we have started to acquire lots of useful baby gadgets...to be honest i haven't got a clue what half of the stuff is or does. Ohh well its better to have then to need.
Rebecca and I had a scare. She called me upset because she had such excruciating cramps in her side. We had contacted the doctor and went in for our checkup a few days after christmas. Doc said that those pains she was feeling were normal. It is just her body reconfiguring to fit the baby. Apparently there may be some more pains that could be severe cramp like feelings. Don't worry they wont last long....if it is more than a few hours be sure to contact the doctor.
We had our first sonogram at this point...we were about 12 weeks in at that point. It was the most surreal, and proud moment of my life. I have never experienced such pure enjoyment and emotion. The first time I saw the form of my soon to be child, I was completely awestruck...no words to describe this feeling. At this point it was to soon to tell boy or girl just that the baby looked healthy and was growing normally. Funny as it sounds, the baby was doing a headstand, while kicking its legs...picture trying to ride a bicycle while standing on your head...haha.

Also do not be alarmed but be aware that by this point gentlemen you may have noticed that you have also added a few pounds. Again normal. Be conscious of this, make an attempt to choose healthier foods as well as make an effort to committ to some type of cardio and or weight training exercises. You will need all of your strength and energy in the next coming year. Plus you want to live a long and healthy life, right?....you have a little one on the way to love and enjoy.
